cruising the river or beaching the boat and just playing in the sand and river has been one of our favorite activities this summer...
hard to believe the boat will have to be put away soon!
hopefully, we can squeeze a few more boat rides in before the cooler weather arrives.... :)

at the beginning of august, we had our 9th annual family camping trip to sawbill in the boundary waters with the whole family....
it was the first year that i actually slept in the same place with all of my boys!....
every year, i have either been pregnant or had a little baby so my parents have always been kind enough to let me sleep in more comfortable quarters with them so i didn't have to sleep on the ground..... ;)
we made the leap and upgraded to a pop up camper so it was a new, fun adventure this year!
the boys had so much fun....
it is always a highlight of their summer....something they look forward to....
lots of fun exploring the trails in the woods, salvaging wood for fires, climbing rocks and fallen trees, making spears, being silly in the hammocks, building fires (this was owen's obsession this year), water runs with grandpa, wild blueberry picking, chopping firewood, fishing, playing in the lake, throwing rocks in the water, and just running wild and free....
it is their happy place....
makes my heart happy to bring them here....somewhere i have been going all the years of my life....
i will never tire of this place.....
the tall pines, the mossy trees, sunsets on the lake, the brilliant stars at night, loons calling, the silence, and the solitude....
it is a little slice of heaven here on earth.....
i always leave here feeling a sense of awe and wonder.... at the natural beauty within our reach....
and thankful...thankful for the beauty....
and for family......
so thank you, dear family, for another wonderful time in the bwca.....
my friend just welcomed her 4th bundle of joy into this world....
only 9 days new.....
little miss vada (love her name!) was a perfect angel....
lots of dark hair....
sweet as pie....
it has been so much fun watching my friend's family grow and change throughout the years....
and it is always an honor to capture these precious moments for them....
i had so much fun spending some time with this beauty and her family....
daddy was working but even he was able to sneak in at the last minute for a few pictures with his new baby girl....

i have become a baseball mom...
i will admit it.....
not a crazy one.... just a big fan.... :)
i can't help but feel a great sense of pride watching owen play....
he loves the game...
to watch your own child grow and develop.....
and improve....
to watch the boys grow as a team and develop friendships....
it is amazing to watch....
owen turned into a pretty good little pitcher this season....
it is where he wants to be....
i give him a lot of credit for that....
his bravery....
it is a high pressure position and he thrives on that pressure....
his confidence soars....
what a fun game to watch!
this season had its ups and downs but it was a great season....
a great little team.....
i managed to snap a few shots of their last game of the season....
one where owen pitched the last inning and shut the game down....
one they went on to win....
looking forward to next year!
1 week left before school starts...
let the countdown begin....
summer has flown by....
a summer full of baseball, water, sand, and sun.....
a few trips....
family, friends, and fun.....
late nights and sleeping in.....
lazy days.....
ice cream and s'mores....
campfires and fireworks....
lots of memories made....
working hard on photos today.....
