wishing you a joyful holiday season...
filled with love, laughter, and happy memories....
wishing you a joyful holiday season...
filled with love, laughter, and happy memories....
old man fog...
he lingered for days....
creeping his way into every crevice and corner....
creating a dreary, yet serenely beautiful scene....
making it difficult to see what was in front of me...
but not looking back...
mysterious....
grey morning mist....
hidden secrets....
questions unanswered....
and then the fog parts....
suddenly, there is clarity...
if only for a moment...
little man gus is the big 18 months old today so i thought it only appropriate that the last five on five of the year would be a "few" shots of him.....
it dawned on me that when max turned 18 months old i took some pictures on the very same chair...
my how time flies...
we all just love our little "gussers", as max calls him.... (yet, he is the one who doesn't always tolerate him...)
he rarely sits still....
and continues to prefer walking on his knees the majority of the time... (unless it is carpeted)
but, he is getting braver as the days go on...
although, he sure can move fast with his unconventional way of getting around....
he can destroy a room in about 2 seconds flat....
definitely our little wild child...
with a silly side...
he certainly knows how to rough and tumble with his big brothers...
but, he is sweet....
he adores his brothers...
and is a total mama's boy....
love you lots gus, gus....
i wouldn't mind if you would slow down with this growing thing...
for you are my baby....
and always will be...
(note the injury near his eye.... he had a little encounter with the fireplace and the fireplace won....)
now continue on and go check out andrea's five on five..!
it is december 1st and weather.com actually stated it is "very cold" so it has been a lazy day...
i was going through the photo archives and i seem to have a lot of random photos....
so, i'm going to make this a random post....
i've seen these random posts by a few people (in different variations) so i thought i'd give it a whirl...
a talented, lovely gal i know gave me the template to follow.... thank you, G. :)

outside my window...mostly darkness, i also see the glow from the neighbor's lamp and how it illuminates the pine trees....
i am thinking... that i adore this time of year... the christmas music, hot tea and cocoa, clementines, baking cookies, sweaters, fires in the fireplace, coziness, gently falling snow, picking out just the right gift, giving, that magical feeling, family, togetherness, the boys' excitement....i could go on...it all just makes me giddy!
i am thankful... for my dear family..they are wonderful.
in the kitchen... new festive additions: an advent calendar that a certain 3 year old broke into to get to the chocolate, a craft project the boys did--little paper owls decorated with festive, sparkly scarves and such, our chalkboard with a hand written note by owen that says "happy holidays", a pretty red poinsettia...
i am wearing... PJ's (they go on after dinner, don't judge...) and my fun festive fair isle socks from boden...
i am creating...nothing at the moment except this blog post...
i am going...to bed very soon...
i am wondering... how owen is going to do on the top bunk for the first night ever... hope he doesn't fall off... he was super stoked to inherit my old bunk beds this weekend. Come bedtime though, he got all sentimental and said he missed his old bed. He persevered and is now loving them....he is slow to adapt to change. (like his mama) bless his little soul :)
i am reading... "the rosie project" or at least attempting to...i usually have to renew a book three times to finish one these days... am also reading "we make the road by walking" for my book group...
i am hoping... one of these days the baby will figure out how to sleep through the night...ha...
i am looking forward to...the weekend--getting our christmas tree and enjoying some festivities in our quaint little town--a twinkle parade for the kiddos and wagon rides...
i am learning around the house... that couch cushions strewn about the room provide hours of entertainment...but, i strongly dislike putting them back where they belong..
i am pondering...what to get the hubby for christmas
a favorite quote for today... "be a rainbow in someone else's cloud.." {maya angelou}
one of my favorite things...york peppermint patties...
a few plans for the rest of the week... getting together with friends, a winter photo shoot, christmas tree time! :)
and finally, a peek into my day...
a glimpse of a random lazy, saturday morning..
boys will be boys...
Our baby is walking!
At 17 and 1/2 months he finally mustered up the courage....
I was actually beginning to worry. Of course, I am in no rush for him to grow up....
He is our baby after all....
But, I was ready to see him take his first steps...
He decided, before bedtime last eve, that he was just going to stand up and start struttin'....
Off he went...back and down the hallway...
Back and down again...
and again...
He would fall and get right back up....
Still wobbly on his feet...
Love his little toddle...
Today, he has decided he is going to walk on his knees again...
But, every now and then he gets back up on his little feet...
and toddles....
he jabbers with glee while he makes his way across the room...
he is so proud...
and so are we...
last week i had the honor in meeting this sweet, new family of 3 (plus 2 fur babies)...
i enjoyed getting to know them...
hearing their story....
capturing images with things that held special meaning to them...
meeting their sweet baby girl....
capturing her newness...
her tiny features...
documenting a snippet of their life...
when there is sleep deprivation....
when life is a blur...
documenting their love for each other....
it is very evident..
and for their precious baby...
i can tell they are smitten....
thank you so much for welcoming me into your home....
and giving me the honor in capturing your family...
she is beautiful...
