he's been rising earlier than usual....
at 6:15 am...
the light hits the bathroom wall just so...
creating a dappled morning light...
dancing and shimmering...
makes waking up at the crack of dawn just a bit easier....

something i'll always remember when pregnant...
when you are nearing the end...
the anticipation....
the excitement....
wondering what your little babe will look like...
waiting to hold and snuggle all of that sweetness...
my friend and her dear girls are anxiously awaiting the arrival of a little boy to join them....
and he will be so loved...
the weather has not been very cooperative as of late...
no beautiful sunlight...
very little green on the trees....
but, i do believe there is nothing more beautiful than a mama who is glowing with a certain peacefulness...
a love for her sweet baby growing within...
and ever so patiently waiting....
for the day when she will look at him and he will look at her....
touch his baby soft skin....
kiss his tiny forehead...
and she will fall in love all over again....

the photography project i started doing last month just happened to fall on a very special day this month.....
our sweet owen turned the big 7 years old today!
and he received a very lovely birthday present......strep throat.
ugh.
so a special birthday party with a few friends had to be canceled (major bummer--so sad to see him sad...)
celebrating at school will have to take place another day....
he is home today...and actually, i think he is enjoying the extra, extra love and pampering....
i, secretly, am happy to have him home too--more time for us to spend with him...
medicine is kicking in and he is perking up...hooray!
he certainly is a trooper--taking this all in stride...

on this day, you entered this world at 3:04 am......
you made me a mommy....
and changed my life for the better....
somehow we muddled through those first few months...trying to figure out this thing we call parenting...
getting to know you....
loving every minute of every new milestone...
watching you grow....with amazement and wonder....
looking forward to every milestone to come...
my sweet, lovable, bright, goofy, sensitive, thoughtful boy....
we love you so...

sometimes he wakes when the world is still quiet...
when all i can hear are the rhythmic breaths of my boys still in dreamland...
when the sky is still dark....
then, the sun begins to awaken...

set his wild hair aflame...
almost as if to say good morning....
