5 on 5

joining in on a fun little project with some lovely and talented ladies....

posting 5 photos on the 5th of each month.... (except i cheated a little this month--i just couldn't quite narrow it down--i felt like i should include all of my boys!)

i decided to jump on the {freelensing} bandwagon and give it a whirl....

so here is my first somewhat successful attempt.... (i won't tell you how many tries it actually took me to get a semi pleasing result....)

their story

they met while curling....

he proposed in lane 7....

fast forward a few months to the big day....

they married in an old mansion turned chocolate shop... (they had me at chocolate!)

curling stones on the cake....

her own personal touches on the ring-bearer pillow and handkerchief...

a little ring-bearer who wanted the i-pad in his daddy's hands while he was officiating the ceremony...

a wedding dress from a vintage shop....

a beautiful bouquet....

a twinkling chandelier...

a lovely, delightful couple...

such an honor to capture the details of their day....

to capture those brief, fleeting moments...

to create a story...

a story that is only just beginning...

can't help but smile

this cutie pie turned one year old not very long ago...

he was so full of giggles and grins.....

i couldn't help but smile back....

it truly was a joy capturing him (and his lovely mama)....

it is the coldest winter....ever.

we've been doing a lot of staring out the window....

hoping if we will it and stare long enough...things will magically turn green...

and it will be warm...

on this morning....

he was watching the birds....

who knew a bird feeder would provide such a great source of entertainment....

as he stood there observing... i noticed the light....

those rays of light-- his bed head....

and so i snapped away....

and then i had a moment...

for i saw but a boy...

my boy...

growing up right in front of my eyes...

and for a split second...i saw his little baby face....

for it wasn't that long ago...

that he was my baby....

returning to reality....

i continue to snap away...

capture my growing boy....

the light....

and his crazy, beautiful bed head...

longing for spring

monotony

these cold, cold days...

this winter...

the sleepless nights...

the early morning rising--long before the sun awakes...

is wearing on me...

this hibernation...

is getting old..

awaken. eat. play. sleep.

repeat.

day in. day out.

the cold.

repeat.

monotonous.

sweet baby boy turned 8 months old the other day...

how does it seem that he was just brand new yesterday?

at the same time--the days seem to drag on....

we will continue to push on....

continue to count our blessings...

breathe in and breathe out.

counting down to a new awakening...

of green, warm sunshine, new growth, new life...
