for christmas, the hubby was very thoughtful and bought me a plane ticket to seattle to go visit my dear littlest sister....
it had been a couple of years--the last time i was out there i brought gus along...he was still just a baby....
so this time, i had a little more freedom and it was great!
love my boys dearly but a little break from the day to day was a breath of fresh air....
it was so nice to see my sister as well for i only get to see her about twice a year....
so.....to try to sum up the trip in a nutshell so this doesn't get long winded....
it was a whirlwind but wonderful....
4 days of good company, good food (my sister can cook), road trips, taking in the beauty that is the pacific northwest....
we spent part of the time up on the olympic peninsula near the puget sound where my sister lives...
just hanging out--walks on the local beaches, eating sushi at the local taproom on the outdoor patio overlooking the ocean, meeting some of her friends, and just sitting on the porch basking in the sun....taking it all in....
she got us this cute little cabin...with a wood stove and a view of the olympic mountains....
on a quaint piece of land complete with goats and chickens that gave early morning wake up calls....
we also took a little road trip further north and spent one night up on the coast on the ocean.... (think twilight country... ha!)
drove past lake crescent with crystal clear, teal waters....
we did a little hiking, strolled many beaches (rialto beach was a bit windy!), and just soaked up the sun, sea, and air....
amazing scenery out there....
i could have spent another day or two on the coast....
some day i hope to take the boys back there...they would love the rocks, oodles of driftwood, and huge dead trees to climb upon.....
all in all, a wonderful time....
thank you dear sister for being such a wonderful host.... it was a great little getaway and so nice to spend time with you!
and thank you, hubby of mine, for the wonderful gift!
xo
