great smoky mountains

way back in may, we took a little road trip to nashville and the great smoky mountains...

it just happened to be over owen's 11th birthday...

he thought it was pretty special to be on the road...

we had a quick stop in nashville and then enjoyed a few nights at a lovely vrbo by the creek in the smoky mountains....

although it was spring....everything was already so lush and green....

it was a lovely retreat--a peaceful and relaxing time with beautiful scenery...

a great adventure--some place we hope to return to some day!

a little time away....

in sunny San Diego....

just my oldest boy and I.... (thanks to my selfless hubby for allowing this time away and holding down the fort!)

we enjoyed our time exploring the area....

hiking, beaches, fields of ranunculus, discovering every tide pool possible...

it felt good to feel the warm sunshine, breathe in the salty air, and hear the crashing waves...

food for the soul...

bring on spring...!

last week, I had the honor of capturing this lovely family in their home....

and oh my goodness...their newest addition is just precious....sweet as can be...

little miss e was a perfect little angel...

i don't think she made one peep....

big sister and big brother are awfully proud and are so good with her....

it's hard to believe big brother is already 2....it seems only yesterday i was photographing him as a newborn....

i have so loved coming back to photograph this family time after time....and watching them grow through the years....

your love for each other radiates...

thank you, once again, for allowing me to capture a little bit of you.....

The fog comes

on little cat feet.

It sits looking

over harbor and city

on silent haunches

and then moves on

and the fog did just that....

lingered in the harbor most of the day....

and then slowly made its way down river....

what a hauntingly beautiful sight to see....
