just a few pics from owen's birthday party celebration with his friends this past weekend....
just a bit of fun at a local hotel pool....
lots of swimming and ice cream cake...
what more could a boy want?
needless to say the boys had lots of fun!

just a bit of fun at a local hotel pool....

needless to say the boys had lots of fun!
sleeping in...
breakfast in bed (my favorite caramel rolls, breakfast wrap, and chai tea from a local cafe)....
proceeding to lay around in bed until noon....
handmade cards from the boys...
gifts picked especially by them--with no help from daddy (a mug from owen and teal colored beaded bracelets from max)....
a trip to the garden center to pick out a new lilac tree for our yard....
and our traditional mother's day shoot...
by our beautiful blooming tree planted in memory of our angel baby whom i never got to be mother to....but still consider one of our children.....
a "photo shoot" in which the boys were a bit silly and crazy....
sitting still was a very difficult task...
but i was in them...with them....
which, as you probably know, is quite a rarity.....
and that's all i really wanted...
thank you dear hubby for spoiling me and humoring me with the photo taking....
and happy mother's day to my dear mom...
my friend.... the one who has taught me so much....
so blessed to call you mom....
and i am so blessed to be a mama to these boys....
it may not be all cherries and sunshine but i wouldn't have it any other way...
being a mom is the best journey i have ever been on....
happy mother's day!
on may 5th....
the one who made me a mama....
turned eight years old....
he was so, so excited....
i do believe he had a good day. A day with a special breakfast, happy birthday songs at home and school, his favorite dinner (macaroni and cheese), cupcakes and ice cream treats, his first baseball game of the season....
a busy day but a good one....
it is hard to believe how quickly time is flying....
he is growing up to be one amazing young man (of course, i'm biased).....
he is sweet, kind, thoughtful, caring, smart, silly, inquisitive...
an amazing big brother....his little brothers truly adore him....
he loves to build tree forts, hunt for frogs and snakes, dig for worms and bugs, play sports (soccer, basketball, and baseball), fish, ride his bike and scooter (and his new rollerblades)....
he loves to try and figure out how things work--is always creating inventions out of tin foil, rubber bands and paper clips or whatever other little scraps of things he can get his hands on....
one day, my son, if you happen to come upon this....
never lose that curiosity....
i know you will do great things one day.....
and remember you are so loved.....
we are so proud of you....
you make us smile..... how can we not with that sweet smile of yours....
you bring us great joy and laughter....
we wish you the happiest of birthdays and happiness all the days on....
love you lots,
mommy and daddy
